If you have been living in your house for more than 10years already and there is no maintenance made with your grout lines. You will notice that it looks different as it was 10years ago. If you can still clean and remove the dirt and stains in your grout, well you are in luck. The stain is already hard to remove because it has been years. It is like planting a big tree in your backyard and it grew into a big tree and it is already very hard to uproot. It’s the same thing with grout stains. Sometimes you will also notice broken or chipped off tiles. That is because the dirt and stains that your grout absorbed over time makes your tile weak and is more prone to damage and breakage. It definitely is not lovely to look at.  You have to understand that grout is a porous material. It acts like a sponge that absorbs all stains and will eventually lead to bacteria growth. Sealing grout will help you protect your tile. Grout sealing should be done right after installation of your new tile. You have to make sure to seal your grout to make it water proof and will prevent it to absorb materials that will not do good to your tile. In this article, I’ll be giving you a few tips on how to seal grout. First, make sure that your tile is clean before applying the sealant. Then apply the sealant using a spray. Spread the grout sealer and let it stay for a few hours and let it dry. You will know when to stop applying sealant when you see that the grout is not absorbing the sealant anymore. Grout sealing should be done at least once a year or if you notice that there is a need to clean and seal your grout again.
