Like everything in this modern world we live in there is a vast range of products available on the market to choose from. This also applies to doors for both interior and exterior of the home. The choice can include many styles such as framed and solid panel types, flush type, part solid and part glass, sheeted type like a store door the choice is endless. The most popular material used in the making of doors is wood and there are many species to choose from such as cherry, pine, mahogany, ash and of course oak. Oak interior doors are widely available and look fantastic. Wood being a natural material means that the grain pattern on the surface of the door will not be the same in any two doors. Each door will be unique.

One way to brighten up your home is to replace all the interior doors. Nowadays oak doors are relatively inexpensive and as always the choice of styles and sizes is wide ranging. If your budget allows you should consider also replacing the door trims as well in matching wood species to the main doors. This will provide a consistent image throughout.

Most manufacturers produce a range of doors to meet with all specification requirements. Perhaps you want different styles off doors throughout the house for example in the lounge you may prefer a framed door with solid panels while in the dining room a framed door with glass panels may be a better solution. Many door styles are offered in the same wood species and color.

Most homes do not require fire doors, however in some instances internal fire doors are required for example between the main part of the house and an attached garage or if the home is three stories and above. Again most manufacturers produce a range of fire doors suitable for the home that will match standard doors.

When replacing the doors be sure to measure the openings correctly prior to ordering. Also make sure that the existing frames are square. Over time a building will settle and some movement will occur especially around the door openings putting the frames slightly off square. If the frame is off square a lot then replacement of the door frames may also be necessary. The choice of handles or knobs will complement the door and finish it perfectly. As usual a wide range is available and reasonable priced.
