I called over to meet my friend Sarah at her apartment last week and when I arrived I noticed that she had redecorated her living room.  It looked really great and the focal point of the room as I saw it was the wool area rug in the center of the room.

‘What a great rug’, I said.  ‘How did you find such a perfect rug to match the décor?’  Sarah laughed and told me that she actually did the opposite.  She found the rug first and then decorated the room to suit the colors and design of the rug.

‘It has worked out really well for me’, she added.  ‘And the really great thing is that a rug like this is a lot less expensive than getting other types of floor coverings’.   I asked her about wool area rugs in general.  This one looked great but would it last the pace, being in her busy living room.  She reckoned that she would have no problems on that score.  ‘These wool area rugs are very hard-wearing’ she said. ‘My parents have a similar rug to this and have had it since they were married ad that was not yesterday’, she laughed.

Sarah went on to tell me that she has other friends that have several wool area rugs and they swop them around and even have different rugs for different times of the year. ‘Wool are rugs do not go out of fashion, so I don’t expect to be getting rid of this one any time soon’, she said.
