Recently it seems that many gun owners are interested in hidden gun cabinets.  These are cabinets that look like a curio cabinet or simple shelf unit in the front, but actually have a hidden back and with the turn of a key, the back slides away or the front swings away like a door.  This motion reveals the gun storage in the back.  This is a very slick feature that should prevent most casual burglars from finding your gun collection.

These hidden gun cabinets have only started being manufactured in the last couple years.  They are not widely available everywhere.  So where can you buy one of these cabinets?

  • Amazon has at least one model that can hold 8 long guns with a cabinet on the bottom to hold ammunition.  This product is manufactured by American Furniture Classics.  They only seem to carry this single product on Amazon.
  • You may need to search around on the internet for other manufacturers.  I have spent some considerable time looking, but was only able to find this one unit for sale.
  • Unfortunately, this company does not sell direct to the public despite having a nice website.   They also manufacture gun safes, but I am uncertain of the security of them.
  • Many woodworking sites on the internet sell cabinets to build your own hidden gun cabinet.  If you are not handy or do not have the time, you may be able to bring the plans to a cabinet shop or someone that builds furniture for a hobby and have them build it for you.  This may be a better option because then you can specify the materials and colors of the product to make it fit your room decor better.

A hidden gun cabinet is an excellent combination of gun safe and gun cabinet.  Unfortunately, they are not widely available.
