Some people assume this means that everything will look “used”.  This simply is not the case.  There are countless vintage items sold every week at estate sales or on eBay that are in fabulous condition.  Just as plentiful, and also easily found, are vintage items that need just  bit of restoration to return to their former glory.

Old furniture is a great place to start for those looking to “go vintage” in their home decor.  If you have the time to browse local classified ads, you will often see the ads of people trying to prepare for a move or a total redesigning of their homes.  These people need room quickly and want to get their spaces cleared out fast.  You might want to consider giving them a phone call to see just what kind of furniture they are looking to get rid of in a hurry.  Many times, it is true vintage furniture.  These people are not usually looking to get rich, they just want their space available for what is coming on the delivery truck in a week.  They often do not even realize that there is any special value in the “old” furniture they are getting rid of at dirt cheap prices.  You can often pick up some very nice old furniture like china closets or a  vintage coffee table by going this route.

Another great place to pick up vintage items for sale is estate sales.  These are run by companies that specialize in selling off entire estates in one day.  If you have a truck and are willing to move things out within a day or so, you can actually make some good money just buying antique furniture at these events and then selling it at your leisure.
